Hello people of Polycount :) ! I was thinking about starting a path about 2D Digital painting. But i've some questions regarding the right way to do it. Starting from the fact that i don't have any experience regarding drawing skills but i'm enough proficent with Photoshop,in your opinion what's the best path to follow? I…
Hello, This is actually only my second post as I just joined the forums. I've been modeling as a hobby for awhile now and just started college for game art/3D animations. I've been working on a game now for a little while with a friend of mine and I've been trying hard to make 'nex-gen' models or get better at it using HP…
I'm having a problem just painting a flat white terrain texture. I've gone into the terrain menu and assigned a texture to the layer. A flat white one. Whenever I try to paint on the terrain, I just keep getting the checkerboard pattern. Any ideas?
I am painting the alpha channel of the vertex, but I don't want to see the transparency in the viewport. I want just to paint a black/white mask. Can I do this?
How does one go about painting vertex opacity in Max? I have fiddled with Vertex-paint modifier and cant seem to get it right. Tried setting the opacity slot in the material editor to vertex color but still no luck. Is it perhaps the view port shader? Thanks in advance :)

I want the main focus on the dudes hands and around the fruit hes picking - so…
Hi guys I made this the other day I think I matched the concept pretty well, but I can't help thinking I could push it further. I don't have a lot of practice with hand painted textures so any advice or paint-overs would be a huge help! Or even just let me know if you think its fine and I'm over-analyzing it.
Lotekk - Thanks for the crits, yeah the bricks and wood or atleast the wood could use another pass and I'll probably give them one when I find time. I too appreciate the spiffy look of the bricks. ZacD - I agree, I didnt change much in it texture and modelwise though besides the engine. Just removed one wall and extended…
The Toolbag2 system doesn't bug you if you already have the license activated (completely silent if your license is attached to the comp), it's just super handy if you have to switch between different computers a lot. It don't find it annoying at all, since the only reason you see it is if it's the first time you're using…
