That's unfortunate. I don't get why this is not a feature in ue4. I guess because it hasn't been used for archviz until recently. I have set up a thread on the ue4 forums. Hopefully it triggers a discussion for arch viz people over there and the devs add this. It just wierd you can lock an actor's movement but not the…
for example 2048-1024 texture maps etc. can ue4 read these correctly and if so how do you make it work? it's a current problem i'm wondering if there's a solution to it, as i've not found any info on it.
Sorry if it wasn't clear, I meant those rock formation in the distance have such a steep slope, close to 90 degrees, that you shouldn't have been able to get them from a displacement map generated in WM, so I was wondering if you painted them with the landscape tool in UE4 directly. Every time I try extreme slopes like…
Hey! So I've recently noticed in UE4 that after I bake light, the baked shadow information drowns out the normal map edge definition, is there a way to avoid this without adding more geo? It looks like it only takes the mesh geo into consideration and not the normal map?

Hey guys. This is a cinematic character done in my creature class in Animum3D. I rendered him in UE4 using the digital human eye shader and scene set-up. Even though it's a bit late to make many dramatic changes I would love to know what do you think and what could be improved. The concept art is made by Cedric Peyravernay…
Hi, I just finished texturing this beast Original piece by artist Amin Akhshi Here are few more shots My aim was not to recreate original as close as possible but to base robot of the original piece. Can someone suggest how I can present this piece in ue4 with matinee ? So far I've added slight smoke to simulate engine in…
Hey guys, I've been trying to figure this out for a while now and maybe someone else can help. I personally -hate- Eye Adaptation in UE4. It's a nightmare for trying to get lighting consistent for taking screenshots. Now I know you can disable it in the editor, but when you go to play the game (Play > stand alone window),…
Hi, I'm starting my first project in UE4, also first 3d environment project from own concept. Here are reference pictures for interior and exterior. I'm going for a TES: Oblivion/Gothic/Witcher inspired but more realistic, less game-like look. Here are some lowpoly blockouts in Maya. Trying to work modulary. Trying out…
Still have to do ground textures, a ton of shader work, and finalize lighting and composition. Getting the material definition in Unreal as clear as in the 3Do previewer has been a struggle. I have a thread in Technical Talk where I got the worst of it sorted out, but it's still not quite there: At least part of it is…
