If someone wants to chat, there's #model_design on irc.freenode.net, and freenode has a webchat app on their site http://webchat.freenode.net/ so no need for a separate client. amazing texture work. just fantastic! think you could post a small blender minitut on your process. i had a feeling you were painting directly on the model when i saw the textures. the uv's are superwonky. i'd love to see how in blender your doing this. -

Pics on what you mean? Negative light affects the material alot. In the case of custom shaders, even in Max, a negative light could have 'strange' effects, not counting the Gamma in question. So what you consider to be 'weird' and 'purply' could be very well the natural negative light in question on the material. Been a… -

Is it at all possible to do those things on a laptop? Modelling maybe . Rendering/baking I am very doubtful. Would be a torture. My current PC is a small miniATX mb laying on my table with a cpu cooler fan almost the size of mb itself. Quite portable but you still need separate PSU and videocard in your relocating… -
