ive been using the student version of maya for years now and am trying to learn to use blender. If a model was originally created using student maya, then later imported to and edited in blender, are you allowed to sell those models? I have old models that were originally made in student maya a while ago and would like to…
When I export my model from Maya as a .OBJ and import it into Blender, it as a lot a few holes and double the poly count. Is there a way to fix this? I also tried to export the file as a .FBX, but the result was the same. (I want to buy Maya LT to model, but it doesn't support SMD import/export plugins so I'm trying to…
Hello, I want to start working in the modelling/gaming industry as an 3d artist or environment/ level designer. Trying blender even though I am a voxelartist, the experience is mixed because couldn't actually do what I wanted to because of blender maybe my laptop fault and what do guys think
What? Thats what I call unfunded assertions... I started with Maya, moved to Softimage XSI, then switched to Modo for many years, then to Blender with 2.8, and with 46 I now use Blender almost exclusively.
Nobody said you have to use just one tool for the job. Blender is free, so it's the perfect gap filler. It's the jack of all trades. On the contrary, it is master of none. And it has a pipeline and plugin problem. There's rarely professsional plugins for Blender available. That said, i would go with Maya or Modo. And use…
tried out the new auto-rigify script in blender in conjunction with the meta rig that ships with blender now. all i can say is wow thats a whole part of my life that was saved as a result of these new magic features of blender ! *ps* pay no attention to the screwy normals in the picture its a bug blah blah
Would love to see same thing for Blender. Maybe as a paid addon on Blender market. Blenders native Data Transfer modifier could do same but kind of less reliably with normals sometimes split and not exactly same direction as in source object. It's one rare thing I had to switch back to Max sometimes
