shitty tree I spent too long on crappy pirate guy and finally something from reference All done in painter 9 btw, cs5 isnt saving my brush presets, so, back to the old apps
dreamcast was better than the ps2. just didn't get the developers support from some of the big names. plus how easy it was to pirate games. then there's the stigma from the saturn which didn't help. many factors doomed the dreamcast
Now we need ninjas! Because pirates + ninjas = cool ^ 4 From what I heard it's not worth it if you haven't played FF7 because there's no backstory given? All I know about FF7 is that Aeris is dead.
An example of posting progress in Replies. https://polycount.com/discussion/91066/pirate-castle-udk/p1 This also happens to use trim textures, and the author shares lots of details about how things were made, could be helpful to you.
I condone pirating software if you can legit not afford it. When you develop skills from the software and are able to get a job and afford it, you will buy a legit license. Go download zbrush from a torrent and start learning.
@Zyloh: Thanks for the support! :) @Amile: Pirates of the Caribbean are indeed cool films hehe, thanks very much! Here is another update: Still need to create a material instance for the plants to get some colour variation in there! Baaack to work :D
I love the concept of this character. Reminds me of the armor guys in a Space Pirate movie I saw a while ago. Awesome progress so far. I really like whats coming out of this. Cant wait to see it finished :)
The Lair stuff and the Pirate concepts are baddass, at least to me. The 3d chars are in general not as good as the other stuff.. the Full Throttle/Rocker Dude is the best of chars by far.. just needs a bit of color tweaking and polish like Monkeyboy said.
It's because the site has detected you have bittorent open and polycount is currently working with a number of art software companies to track down pirates. So you're probably going to get busted. It's usually just a fine and probation, though
ANY Danny Elfman is really good for this - especially "The Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtrack. I'm diggin' Hanz Zimmer and Harry Gregson Williams ATM, specifically "Pirates of the Carribean", "The Rock" and "Broken Arrow" by the former and "MGS2" and "Chronicles of Narnia" by the latter.
