I need to be able to connect to the server at work, but for some reason it's not working. If I can't make it work, I'll have to literally live at work for the next 2 weeks. I've tried everything. I'm pretty good with computers but I've hit the limit of my skills on this one. I've enabled remote desktop in the settings.…
So here we have a set of wall props, mostly utility boxes. I don't wanna talk about my geometry, I promise y'all that it's fine. There are only two places I can think of off the top of my head where I really outta delete an edge loop because it's not really doing me any good. This set of props will be going into the same…
I continu my noobs question list about animation on Maya! 1 - Do you know how to copy a full animation from a full skeleton... to the same skeleton in another scene? (bones aresame names&properties... etc...) For exemple : is there a way to save the animation easly in a special file and reimport in in Maya? I remember it…
I was listening to a Games Industry Mentor podcast on Technical Design at work this week and it got me excited about doing something in UDK over the summer. One of my biggest take aways from the podcast, besides "build something," was to make something that would wow the employer and create excitement over how I achieved…
I'm a hardcore max user, been using it for almost about 5 years now. At work though, we're using Lightwave. The main reason we're using it is it's measurement accuracy. We're building interfaces with it, so the position of elements needs to be dead-on. Max aren't accurate enough. Aside from that, I find that LW's only…
Nice work! Can you share a bit about how you approached the skin material? Curious what layers you used, and if SSS is involved. I'm doing a bit of research into SSS techniques, curious about your skin workflow.
i would really like some feedback from the pros here(not just the pros...but some pro input would be nice). right now my workflow is as follows: build low res in max/detail in zbrush/import highres from zbrush and build final low-med res mesh over highres/unwrap low-med res model/bake normals etc. i'm just curious(i've…
I had a free week between semesters, and because I have wanted to explore more stylized stuff, I bought a tutorial on how to create a stylized sword prop by Sabrina Echouafni on Flipped Normals. As someone who is still relatively new to sculpting, I like stylized stuff because it is more forgiving, and I can just have fun…

There's a lot to complain about with autodesk, but this is just a weirdly subjective gripe about something that doesn't really matter. Its not busted, it works differently. I find a lot of Blender's UX/UI to be awful. Should I make a video about how Blender needs to get its act together and do things like Maya?
