I'm hoping I can complete this in time. The decision process for who to do was a monster but I finally decided on Dryad Soraka. Here is my initial idea sketch. Next is anatomy check/tidying with her final sketch. Then the background will be solidified and light source worked on. ANNNNNND finished! DA LINK

So, I really need to stop procrastinating and just do a proper character. So I decided to pick one from one of the previous character art challenges. Q-peng's "blade nare" concept. For now, I'm just aiming to push it as far as I can go and see what my limits are. I annotated this to roughly work out the proportions. I'm…
All well and done but all this hair and accessories are hiding a lot of flows Make yourself a little test line up just heads and see if their still look ok There are also common mistakes that are shared by most of them for example: - absence of cheek bones - no underchin plane - base of nose is missing - huge forehead…
Neutral pose is good! Generally the figure looks lumpy. Like you started too high rez. Probably this figure suits your purpose but it looks like you need practice on generic models before really nailing the anatomy. Use Daz 3D as a reference.

Hey OXGears, Good start on the art. There are some major anatomy problems with the girl as she stands. Her shoulders are really wide and her hips are way too skinny. Try hitting up some more reference on the body, her back anatomy is wrong. Her arms are too short, her legs are about the right length but not full enough,…

And i would really recommend getting a sketchbook, and using a pen to draw. This will help you focus on the linework. One usefull way to go about…
It is similar in my opinion to people who try to stylize a character without knowing anatomy. They think that because they don't know anatomy, they can just give their character huge arms, or tiny legs, and it will look right because it is 'stylized'. But really it is the guy who knows the proper anatomy who could make the…
