Hi I have made a little item in editable poly , I wanted to align the item along a path , SO when I add path deform and click the path , the item seems to clone another pat offsetted and apply the item to that instead , why this? the path was already sreset formed and is ok .
Just want to render a scene with 100-200 bipeds but max freezes for 10mins if I save or edit. I've tried x ref and containers but it still struggles. (I have a high quality pc, 10GB of ram etc) Not sure what else to do? Any ideas?
In 3ds max we can use containers to work on separate models and then use them as containers into a big scene. now the question is what should we do for this inside maya? PS. we found containers in assets menu. is that same container? it's hard to understand how it should work.
hey anyone know what cause slow viewport when working on hp models, like 1mil sometimes it movies fast and sometime it take like 10 sec to just rotate it its really annoying :( im using max 2013 what would be the best setting for speed?
Is there a good way to do this? Normal align seems to do what I want but it's completely unaffected by snaps which makes it annoying to place things correctly. Any ideas?

Okay I swear I knew the work around for this but I'm brain dead today...I'm trying to RTT a diffuse map from my hi-poly mesh to lo-poly, but showing up in the baked texture are black spots where the lo-poly is covering up the hi-poly. I thought there was a way of stopping the lo-poly affecting light etc during the bake?
Is there any way to align vertices in splines? I can't find any sort of align tool anywhere. I just need the basic stuff, select a bunch of vertices and align them on a certain axis.
