running through a bunch of 3d tutorials from folks going to make a bunch of props in the next couple months trying to learn better and more improved workflows from all these wonderful tutorial places. :D Going to eventually put them all in a scene. Figure I'd start off with my first finished piece a crappy ol' dumpster. :D…
Damn I didn't expect to find a live thread about that feature! Back in Photoshop times we had Maya to photoshop chamfer creator based on masks and color blending. It were usible solution but with unstable results. And from that time I was playing with that kind of filter and I was so frustrated because its so obvious that…
Not really holes, i was thinking more of rice paper thingy on the window. I had an extrusion tho, on lod0 but i had to squeeze that for the 600 tris limit (im actually at 598 D: ). Note that valve model is 754 tris, unfair ! But yeah i'd like particles emission, so i don't really know what to do. Looks like i can't export…
Not sure if you're being sarcastic (my sarcasm-o-meter doesn't seem to be working properly lately) or not, but the study does seem pretty legit. I'm betting on sarcasm of course, but I think it would be cool to post some info anyway. Here's a quote from the abstract: "We prospectively observed 37 698 men from the Health…
For my first post I'm loading 2 projects i did for class. They're supposed to be speed models, but I'm still kind of slow. Each of these was probably 5-7 hours from beginning to end. Feedback would be nice (though I probably won't edit these models due to other work i need to get done, I'd still like to know what I could…
You made a nice sculpt for the bricks, though you could have added some cracks and indentations to break the uniformity. But something about the texture isn't quite right. Try overlaying the detail of the concrete on your normal maps. Also overlay some decals on your walls to make the textures seem a bit less uniform. The…
Thanks for the explanations. And yea I get what you mean now black. And I plan on noodling at those couches today. Unfortunately with the way my assignments are layed out, I get to start modeling something then I have to put it on hold and get working on another assignment. So I will always get back to those unfinished…
Hi all, I just recently upgraded from Photoshop CS to Photoshop CS 2. I have an Intel Pentium III 598 MHz chip, 768 mb of RAM and a Geforce 4 2600 titanium graphics card. Ever since upgrading to CS 2 I have been experiencing an extremely unstable software program. It is extremely sluggish when I move things around, open…
Even still, you're wasting a -lot- of triangles. Bricks should not be chamfered, broken bricks and cinderblocks have a lot of redundant loops, the center loop of the tire doesn't contribute enough to the silhouette to exist and the inside can be much sparser too. In total this prop is ~5k triangles... far too much for some…
Had to do some tunneling equipment for a project and thought I would post up my reference that I used http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunnel_boring_machine http://www.herrenknecht.com/ http://www.herrenknecht.com/products/tunnel-boring-machines/traffic-tunnelling/epb-shield.html…
