I just completed this guy. I am having a hard time with the texture though. It is hard to get it looking right considering most of the gun is made of polymer. Too shiny and it looks like metal. Too matte and it looks like it is untextured. Critiques and advice are more than welcome!

MeshInsert plugin might be worth looking into. https://www.kinematiclab.com/products/meshinsert Looks like it's primarily for adding bits and bobs to hard surface style meshes, but could probably be just as good for your use case. I've not used it, but it looks like it's doing exactly what others have described above…
Hey guys, I am trying to use the substance vray shader for the first time, but when switching to vraymtl metallic shader the material (which is not even a material yet, just a standard fill layer) looks very reflective. Actually really prefer panel hair over the polygon ponytail...just seen too often. But i guess you got deadlines and more complexe hair takes a lot of times. Still…
So after using Cryengine for a bit it's come down to the time where I actually want to make something substantial out of all the modeling tutorials I've been through and actually make a game. Due to the lack of coding tutorials, various bugs, and the licensing problems on CryEngine I've come to the realization that UDK is…
