Hi, On my model, I apply chamfer to the edges to soften it. In the upper part of the chamfer, the vertexes remain idle. When I connect the idle vertexes to another vertex, the surface is distorted as in the picture. This problem occurs not only in this model but also in many other models when I apply the same method. How…
I am working in UE5 and would like to get the vertex normals of a static mesh using the C++ API. I can successfully access the vertex buffer, and then get the PositionVertexBuffer and the StaticMeshVertexBuffer (link to docs). This yields the vertex positions and the vertex tangents. However, there seems to be no way to…
think you'd need to preprocess the mesh and encode the per vertex ratio of uv density to spatial density in say a vertex alpha channel. not sure on the best method to compute this but off the top of my head I'd say.... <area of all faces used by the vert >/<area of all map faces used by the vert>
thanks, the maths is really "weird" especially getting the light and view directions for the pixel shader (screen space) and a different light direction for the vertex shader (view space) as the lighting and normals come in two parts.... one for the overall clump of points handled in vertex shader and then each billboard…
I am trying out vertex color painting in 3dsmax. say u paint a vertex color map after asigning a vertex paint modifier, is there a way to get the initial vertex color map to display as you paint a new vertex color after applying a new vertex paint modifier especially if u need to paint with reference to the previous one in…
I want to remove those edges along with their vertexes but It only deletes the edges and some of the vertexes then selects seemingly random edges afterwards. This has never happened, I have deleted by history and restarted numerous times.
Hello, i have a wierd problem with vertex color that i have never had before. I'm using 3dmax 2022 and i'm using ornatrix, so.. when i have the hair done, ornatrix always generate a vertex color for the flow i activate vertex color property in the viewport and it's white even if i apply some data channel looks totally…
Hi, does anyone know how the heck I can make an object attach to another object's vertex and rotate according to the normal vertex, using Maxscript and/or Script controller? I've found this script that attach one object to the vertex of another, but only follows its position. I need it to align to the normal of the vertex…
