hey I found someone has put some fake AO in the unity web player, I thought people might like to see hehe. http://forum.unity3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=9323
@Ashervisalis yeah I know the bake isn't perfect, ill go back and fix some issues later but since the player will never get very close to this ( the isometric camera stays far away) I'm not hugely worried about it
You can actually get away with a single uv layout for both layers. Make an atlas layout, no overlaps, all inside the uv square. Use it as-is for your bakes (normal, masks, ao). Tiled textures can have their own per-texture transforms which make them tile across the atlas. You can align the uv islands in the atlas layout…
Thank you! So, First I export normal, cavity and AO maps from Zbrush to Substance Painter. I create a good base color layer and then add 1 or 2 color variations with some procedural noise. I also create a few more color variation layers that I paint manually. It depends on the plant, it's usually stuff like painting a bit…
With season 2 ending soon enough, I'm wondeirng if theres any players that're looking to team up for a bit? It's obviously a lot easier playing with friends that have good communication. Add me on battlenet: Ryswick#1987 Currently in elo hell at 2300ish
What is a good target polycount these days for a UT2004 player model? I've mostly worked with 2000 to 4000 polygons. I imagine with the newer graphics cards out there alot more could be added. Just curious as to what I should shoot for these days
I've embarked on a new character project with substantial more polies and diffuse textures only. I still need to do some equipment and a weapon and then hopefully she'll be a new addition to "sexy rear" player characters. Crits are welcomed *Gone, look lower for pics*
The stamina mechanic and the patrolling npcs (which are enemies, btw, not non-playing-characters) force the players to #stayathome... jk, they encourage exploring and stealth, which i like. Also, liking the door... cant wait to see more variations of it.
I fear though that by using a stickman it would become very hard for the players to follow the main character... Maybe if I change the colors of the robot would suit better or do you guys suggest to change the whole model ?
Looking very cool and unique, I love that giant mech/spider/base thing! Yeah, I second that the outline on the weapons/characters looks very strange, its like the players character isnt part of the game world?
