Cintiq too expensive? Build your own!
This guy built his own Cintiq from a £30 12x12 wacom tablet and a £38 LCD screen from a broken laptop, both purchased off of eBay. I can't find a total cost but he said it's 5% the cost of a Cintiq which costs £2,999 from wacom's europe store so he spent around £149 by my calculations. -

Yeah sure bobby kotick's wage is massive, but it is also a tiny fraction of the companies yearly profits. I fucking hate the way ATI cards work in Maya, which is one of the reasons why I'm switching to learning Max. Every graphical problem I had with Maya seemed to have something to do with the variety of drivers I've tried (Radeon 4870 here). For games it's great. Alright, I found a 128gb SSD 1.8" for $159 and free shipping on ebay. Here's hoping it speeds up my le1600. Thanks for the heads up, Jesse Doing a bit of reading I found out the hdd I have in there is just about the slowest made. I think 3200RPM? something like that. I get the feeling ANY SSD is gonna be an upgrade :)
