google "hardsurface modelling tutorial" returned this http://www.3dtotal.com/tutorial/3d_studio_max/hard_surface_essentials/hard_surface_01.php and you also have this right here on polycount tech talk, http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56014
Dont know about Polycount but Bay Raitt seems to be online quite a bit. He's quite active on the 3Dcoat forums. I wonder if that Pirate thing was a team building exercise? that would be awesome :)
got it too! but it cant be a spambot, as i mailed a few times back and forth with "him" and he replied to it, but not in a mechanichal way... but he said he got mine from 3dtotal.com, not polycount internal
Awesome Per. except do polycounters really have ex-girlfriends? That would infer they had girlfriends to begin with, which is hard when you spend every waking moment in front of 3dsMax
Hi Guys. First post on polycount. Just wanted to get some feedback on some props I just finished. I followed 3dmotive's tutorial on hand-painting and wanted to create somethings based what I learned. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks. Based on concepts below (not by me):
First thread i start here =) This is a model i've doing in my spare time for a game called 1944 LINK: (there are some mirroring errors, can't get 3dsmax working well with mirrored UVWs and normal maps ) Polycount: 5200 tris. Textures: 1024*1024 Normal map
3dmotive is great. Eat3d is also quite good. A lot of artists are selling tutorials on gumroad now http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=137585 Also the Polycount wiki has a ton of free information.
Hello ! So this is my first time posting on polycount forum, I'm doing this for a school project, i'd like to make a dried and rusty version of that picture in UDK. I have 13 Weeks I'd like to add some props of course probably a wrecked ship.
You have already asked this question - http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=148688 I suggest reading this before going any further Then consult the polycount wiki Then try Google, "Engines compatible with Skin Morph Modifier 3dsMax"
I know it's probably not the right place to ask for this, but is there any plans for 3DSMax LT in the future? It was asked elsewhere on Polycount and I figured out, since some Autodesk guys are here you might be able to answer :)
