...I know. This is a common problem for Xgen users. I've tried everything I can find, including scaling my mesh down>freezing transformations>applying description>scaling mesh back up, changing the number in the mask field, loweing the preview/render percentages to low values... everything. No matter what I do the xgen…
Hey guys, I need help! I made hair in Xgen for a model that i want to render in Marmoset Toolbag 3. How do i export the hair? Before Xgen I made some fiber-mesh hair in ZBrush but it looked like shit in Marmoset. I will include that too (picture 2 and 3). It was 4.5 million polygons as well, so it wasn't ideal. For Xgen i…
Just apply for a Job with styliced sculpted hair. And if you need to create xgen hair in the future you will get help from the studio. And if you are forced to learn something you are lacer focused. Its no problem to learn xgen in some days if you realy need it.
@HazelTheHobbit She looks fantastic! I particularly love the cloth detailing on the skirt and tunic. Do you have any resources/tutorials that you'd particularly recommend for learning Xgen hair? I've tried and abandoned it so many times after Xgen's frequent crashes...
xGen wont work on meshes with third party shaders. Try a blinn or lambert on the groom mesh. Have you done anythin to your groom geo? Could you reimport the old geo and rebind? xGen is a complex tool and such problems get normally fixed in the studio by a TD.
Arnold can render the hair directly from the xgen descriptions - it's much, much faster than converting to geometry If you really want it as geometry you can use xgen with alembic export to do that (you'll have to check docs cos they move the button every release)
I have created some hair for my character using Xgen and am looking to make some renders preferably in Marmoset. I've textured my model in Substance painter and was wondering how I can render the model without the use of hair cards? Hair cards seem like such a pain in the ass and I would like to just render the xgen hairs…
