3DS MAX style geometry mirror preview in MAYA?
Does anyone know if there's a way to accomplish a mirroring preview like in 3DS MAX in MAYA? I am accustomed to having a symmetry modifier on geometry while I work in MAX so I can see how the shape is forming in real-time. However, being new to MAYA, I am not seeing a similar function. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -

Not at all IMO, it's basically same, just layers instead of nodes . I prefer nodes . Substance Designer does have certain workarounds. I spend my spare time constructing functions and value input/outputs for noises based on fx map nodes to create scale dependencies in between different noise inputs but it's damn tiresome… -
3ds max inset orientation

Well, that do make sense. I did stop it. However, there's so much dodgy business within these operating systems, like the spyware they had in windows 7, so It always makes me wonder when they remove functions that allows the user to decide how they want to use it.
