For a long time I've been looking to have a better look than Unity's default, then I stumbled across Marmoset's Skyshop asset, which adds some shaders and uses its own lightning system to improve real-time graphics. https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/vfx/shaders/skyshop-image-based-lighting-tools-shaders-8880 However,…

Hi guys, Here is a scene that I recently finished :P I was mostly done while teaching the advanced environment and assets workshop over at GameArtisans Montreal and which was organized by Fred form GA (props to him for making this happen:) I still did some minor polish after the workshop finished, but nevertheless all of…
alrighty. I decided to break out the "insane graph editing stuff" after all since nothing else was working. I created a control mesh which was basically a flattened cylinder but with the normals preserved (so a flat plane with a round normal surface) I baked normals on to this control mesh from a flat plane, so in max the…
Thanks for the heads up on the Razer Abyssus, Joeriv. I hadn't noticed that one. I should have mentioned, that I'll be using it on an mdf board surface. I can never get on with mouse mats. I take it there won't be a problem with laser or optical, but just in case anyone's had any problems with these mice. @EQ, The cheapest…
Thanks for the suggestions Paul, I've followed this train for 95% of the design. I'm tempted to push the art deco stylings a bit on the exterior so adding elements that are both functional and decorative may work such as more valves and gear. I was trying to keep the polycount sensible though the engine currently sits…
Here's a few opinions previously posted on this board: https://polycount.com/search?Search=cg+spectrum&=%EE%87%95 Personally, there's nothing about 3D content creation these online dedicated courses offer and taught by industry professionals, that you can't also learn self-teaching yourself starting out as a complete…
I managed to get some free time the past week and work on the suit. I'm almost done with the bigger shapes and about 95% done with the small shapes. I did a quick test render in keyshot and applied some basic colors to the parts to see how they would work together. Still not sure if I should change the back or leave it as…
ZBrush typically does a very good job importing messy geometry and Dynameshing it, I'd say a 90-95% success rate. For anything that doesn't work so well I run this macro on it in Max: macroScript QuickLowpolyStack

toolTip:"Quick Lowpoly Stack"
