Hey everyone! this is my first post here, and this is my first ever scene :D It is a remake of part of the 'Red Light District' Map from Duke Nukem 3D. I still have serious work to do on the lighting and post processing. I have no idea where to start as far as improving this goes, I also have some more details to add. Let…
Hey so this isn't a problem in Maya or any other engine I've worked in, but in Unreal when I mirror a section of my uv's once it's in the editor the lighting appears inverted on the part of the model that has mirrored uv's. What's the official fix for this issue, I would imagine I could flip the normals on that part of the…
It's a nice portfolio! I think the projects which I've marked with an X can be hidden from the portfolio. The ? I'm not sure... Its not a finished piece, but sort of shows you know anatomy. A bit weakness right now is in your lighting/presentation of a lot of your assets. I think the 2 diseases could be condensed into one…
Nice work, my only gripe is the light source at the door right now, it feels like the light beam should be wider to match the actual light output from the source. Without a proper light shader it wouldn't direct the light like that. :) Good work so far :)
Two-Piece Games is looking for a 3D animator with a passion for fighting games. This job will require improving existing animations, duplicating animations from one rig to another, and creating animations from scratch (with references) all within Blender. Why Blender? Well to make a long story short, As an indie I started…
Take a few online courses on texturing stylized characters, make sure your topology looks like the topology for a professionally made character. That's all you really need right now, and then just keep banging out dope art. Everybody gets continually rejected at the beginning of their 3D career. You might keep getting…
Thank you! I really didn't want to be struggling with basic pose and composition issues late in the game :) Still lots to do: - I'm thinking I'll turn the victim into a robot so he can be slashed apart and sparks can be shooting out. - Have to make the background look like Zaun style architecture and get a decent amount of…
Torch- haha I realized what I had typed just after I posted it. I'm definately going to diversify more as I go. Thanks crazyfool- Thanks, and you're right about the lighting thing. Makes it a real pain in the ass. I usually have some type of human reference open. but I would like to try to get more likeness, like the peter…
I'll critique the ACOG scope because I've recently made one myself. Right off the bat, I can see that it's too low-poly for a contemporary FP game. It would be fine for a mobile game however. Add some more geometry. Some of the details are a bit out of place such as the curves that hold the bolts at the start of the scope,…
Speaking for Maya, you can actually use Creasing to control your edges smoothness. At first sight it isn't that beautifull so you might want to level up the Subdivision level to three or four depending on the scale of your object.Adding edges also helps with the smoothing, but you don't have to drop it just right after all…
