So what was you problem exactly.. "no avail" is not much info.. Usually you need some UV unwrapping and in blender you need an additional texture image node (with any generated or loaded image) and selected to back this to..
Do you have Render Properties -> Performance -> Final Render: Persistent Data enabled ? (And you are pressing F12 (Render Image) not F11 (View Image) 😉 ??)
If you are using PNG with the embedded transparency, then that is just the nature of the beast. I would flatten the image (give a bleed) and use another image to control the transparency. Even better, a *.tga with bleed and alpha channel.
