- Redhonour Yes you are right! I totally agree it is the bright blue wall that is hurting the image! Now I start to regret about the fact that I did not post the image before the contest deadline to get your advice.. -89roach Over the weekend I went back to UDK and revisited some stuff: 1 Deleting some unnecessary grass…
[ QUOTE ] Right click the object, go to properties, and check the "backface cull" option. by default Max9 no longer backface culls, as it is slower to do so in the viewport (but it also leads to artifacts like that). [/ QUOTE ] That was one of those "speed boosts" they did to Max9. Just like "hair and fur was going to run…
I think it ultimately depends on what kind of experience you're looking for. If you want to play first-person shooters and fighting games, you're probably better off with the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3. On the other hand, if multi-player and party games are your thing, then the Wii might be right up your alley.…

*Runs in circles, flapping arms and emitting penguin sounds* Yet to do: + Touch up the feet color and shading/highlights (like they can get much better on a 128 ). + Alpha for the flipper. + Considering darkening the light-grey on the front of the 'guin; a bit too bright, methinks... + Paint some color at the eye-region of…
I don't know if its really the same effect. TV manufactures seemed to think light leaking out the back of your TV was a cool feature, but this is actually projecting things on the walls and surface not just colors. the snow effect in the cartoon-ish racing game, simple yet pretty cool, the same could be done with rain or…
Looks okay, but there's more to accomplish. I'm reading the castle towers as sand castles given their noisy texture, but I have a feeling you were aiming to make them stone. Which in many cases, structures like those use brick to make up their surfaces. I think you should have spent time actually making the brick texture…
Unfortunately, lighting bakes are no longer supported in Toolbag 4. The ray tracing back end underwent a major overhaul and we were no longer able to bake lighting with the method we previously used. Investigating a new method for baking lighting is on our todo list.
Congrats on landing that work! It took me about 2 years to get my first job, but I had the benefit of having studied in a dedicated 3D Animation course. I'm not sure that I would have stuck with it if I was learning on my own, to be honest. On that note - it can help to do a 3D animation course or something similar…
Hello everyone, I've been self learning 3dmax and Unreal for a while but i can't figure out how to solve this problem with (i believe) UVs/Lightmap/Unreal. It looks like out here you can find a lot of people with the same issue and the solutions they propose aren't fully working for me. I have changed the lighting settings…
