So this is a weird bug or error I'm getting I can't right click on anything I add or subtract to the level or any of my static meshes. If I right click on empty space though the menu comes up. Anyone know whats going on here
bryan you've done some great work on this guy! BuT I think you really need to work the specular better. The spec on his face feels too tight. Throw a constant in the spec power and playing with low settings and see how it looks, personally I prefer a broad shine for skin in unreal. If you spec value ends up too high then…
After having to do a complete format and re-install of my home computer after my Anti-Virus software went haywire (http://boards.polycount.net/showthread.php?t=71187) I am in the process of setting the machine up as close as to how it was before all the trouble and stress! To save time setting up hotkeys etc again I copied…
I'm trying to plan out how I'm gonna design levels in a game I'm working on. I'm currently using small terrain chunks bridged together by mesh sections. Each terrain chunk is basically a level which contains various challenges, encounters, puzzles, etc. Some of the puzzles include navigation through dark areas where you…
Hello, I'm new to Polycount so I hope I'm doing this feedback thing right :) Recently I applied for a 3D Artist job and I had to do this assigment: creating a mid poly ( under 20k tris) 3D model of Peterbilt Cabover truck with Diffuse, Roughness and Metallic maps for a mobile game. I ultimately didn't get the offer, so I'd…
I'm trying to bake lightmaps in Unity. Unfortunately they come really blown out. All the lights are area lights. Side lights imitating screens are set to 0.04 and top light to 0.3. On the screen you can see the settings I use. Any idea how to make it work ? Scale is ok since I'm using default first person controller and…
Ah, unlit will be great. Right now though, the front is mostly in dim lighting, I feel like I really want to shine a big fill on it. All those colors are muted way down.
Hey everyone, I figured it’s about time I made one of these threads as a long time lurker. I’m a graduate 2D/3D character artist so expect a lot of that in this thread. Currently trying to get my skills up to the point where I can get hired! Comments, advice and critiques
are welcome since the main point of this thread is…
Ok so I'm just going to start by saying that I do not have a good understanding of lighting or displaying my work in UDK. I have modelled and UV'ed the major assets of my scene (I use maya), and created a very quick and dirty light map for the asset you see here which is the first one I am addressing the major lighting…
I graduated last year with a mediocre portfolio, but I still got some interviews from a few companies. I never got a job beyond the contract one I'm in now but my career advisor kept telling me that it's not me but the economy right now. Is that actually true? I'm under the impression that the game industry is…
