I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to 1 up the competition when applying for a QA position. Since I'm still a student and learning all the cool art stuff, I figure why not try to get a QA position to earn some industry experience? What say you?
Hello, Just bought zbrush two weeks ago and I have been sculpting on it daily since. I'm new to 3D modeling in general, I spent about a month prior becoming basic-level familiar with Blender. I want to be very skilled with Zbrush and modeling in general, however, I'm a complete noob, I've never sculpted before…
I just want to know what kind of techniques people use when modeling a helmet with a visible face such as: Do you model the face first then Build around?
I made a mirror using a lot of different tools and i dont know if this prop i made would be good enough quality for games. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/L22L3k
First tip: use JPG instead of PNG. Saving a JPG at level 8 converts a 8MB PNG down to a 128kb JPG, and looks virtually identical. See the thread http://polycount.com/discussion/161965/why-is-everyone-using-massive-png-files-for-their-shots .
Awesome tips people! Added a new wiki section for this. http://wiki.polycount.com/CategoryGameIndustry#Freelancing I can't recommend this book enough. Graphic Artists Guild Handbook: Pricing & Ethical Guidelines
