So I've been learning UE4 the last few days and I've come to the point of foliage 1) Is this about the what your average AAA grass should look like in UE4 ( 4.8 )? 2) What is it missing? From Cryengine it felt like I could achieve great results fairly easily.. The grass in Cry would feel much more flourished and dense…
Here are the six individuals who will determine the winners of Polycount's Brawl Tournament. This week they will been sent the Top 5 Fighter entries and Top 5 Stages as voted on by the Polycount Community. Collectively they will determine the winner's of the Brawl Tournament. Hi to everyone. I want to discuss some hypothetical topic about the legal framework sorrounding the producction of a videogame. If a big community of game artist, coders, designers and so on wanted to create a videogame using a license like Lord Of the Rings, would be that legal? Understanding that they would be using such…
I recently sold my desktop and moved abroad and I'm looking for a good laptop to get some game art done. It needs to be a laptop, but I had considered getting a macbook pro maxed out. They're not bad and I grew up with macs so I like using them, but for a similar price I saw this beast.…
Thanks for the comment Disco stu, I'll try to make the muscles sharper/better-defined. Brandoom, I was thinking the same thing when I saw these masks but the canister is really huge and I'm going for a direct interpretation: EDIT: Ok, sorry for the hasty post. I gave it a try and I think it looks better: EDIT 2: Muscle…
I would like to achieve photorealism, yet I am quite unsure what I am missing and what I can adjust/change/add etc.. Made in UE5 More info can be provided if asked but generally speaking all that I am trying to achieve here is photorealism in areas such as light, tones and general composition.
Thank you so much for precious explanation Pxgeek. I will definitely try this. Since I didn't have much time, it was solved in another way. it wasn't very good. I'm not happy because some of the sharp corners in the model were cut off, bone and tooth details and other things... I couldn't work much on the texture either.…
For some reason half my grass is red. I've messed around with the healthy & dry colour to no avail. The texture is completely green, and so is the material ball. The model also looks green in the viewer (in the bottom right of the screen) when selected, it only starts turning red when painted. It does this when I try…
Heya, Just curious how do you replicate the whole cage & low poly topology thing in Xnormal? I've baked in XNormal for a while and have never seen it. My biggest gripes with XNormal come from clunky interface and a 3D cage editor that makes me feel like I'm on an acid trip. Oh and every time I open it I have to remind…
UDK and CryEngine3 is free, Unity have free edition, and you can try out Marmoset Toolbag 2 too. The Vray render don't give back the in-game look, this is why I would suggest to render it in one of the mentioned engines. For the true next gen look, I would perefer Toolbag, CryEngine3 or UDK. They can give really good…
