Hi, I m trying to create augmented reality based coloring book. Following Disney paper: Live-Texturing-of-Augmented-Reality-Characters-from-Colored-Drawings-Paper Now tell me how can i make UV lookup map in any 3d tool like Maya, 3dsMax, Houdini, etc. ??
I made a material simulating objects in Houdini and getting them into designer. Added a breakdown on the process because I couldn't find something written online. I don't want to flood the post with a lot of images so here are links the the artstation post + breakdown blog for more materials
It's been a while but I should be back to regular updates. Alongside learning Houdini I also started learning substance designer which is also really enjoyable and I'm able to make simple but nice-looking textures. I'm going to dive into substance designer and see how that goes.
Realflow Alternatives are Naiad, Houdini, or Blender. Whatever you use, you are most likely going to want to be able to render out a normal/reflect/refract pass from your fluid sim, so it's worth keeping that in mind. As long as you can mesh it, you should be fine.
Procbuilding is just a tool that places instanced meshes. You'll get a much better result by building a pipeline yourself, using something like Houdini to generate your city layout, indvidiual structure layouts, and generating an appropriate import for your target engine that respects mesh instancing / batching.
Making another blood splat sim. I’m having a lot of fun with these. Way more than I anticipated. I"m going to try and keep doing more of these until its second nature, and I can just get these out of Houdini without even thinking about it.
Our check out Houdini if you want to have an application Which is just built around this paradigm. At the op, if this is just for fun, maybe better look into adding a feature to blender than to create yet another application which probably doesn't have enough appel on its own.
Hello dear Polycount-minion friends! I've created this topic to ask you a question, and finaly find myself an excuse to finally write something down in this wonderful community, and start a new discussion. Some time ago I have realised that lot of articles about #gamedevelopment talks much about using houdini in the game…

Hey! I've recorded another Houdini tutorial. This time I show how to create a paintsplash effect in Unreal using Vertex Animation Textures. I also briefly cover how to use the simplebaker to bake out textures to use as a decal. There's a lot of content in there and if you are only interested in specific parts of the…
