I feel like the original post in this thread, even if it is very old, never got good answers for Pedro's limitations. First: the point to PBR is not the realistic rendering of materials with realistic constraints. It's not going to be used by anybody studying optics, not ever. It's as much an abstraction as any other…
Hey Odium, I'm sorry I came off as being insulting. Thats not my intention I was trying to keep my post brief. I have some more time so Ill try to explain my reasoning better. You obviously have a lot of talent and from reading your posts and checking out the overdose website. From what you said it seems like your doing…

Decide what story the scene is telling and light it a little more dramatically in that respect. It will push it out of realistic, but will showcase a storytelling talent.

If you are interested please send me your portfolio and hourly rates. and we can discuss it more.
One of our guys built this scene to show off some of the features in the Verold Studio. The Apollo Lunar Module was downloaded from NASA's website, and we're using our material editor and skybox to construct a realistic lunar environment. Check it out, live 3D in your browser:…
Hey friends. This is my first real attempt to get my car looking realistic with proper lighting and materials using Mental Ray. Overall I think I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Let me know what you think or if there's anything I could potentially work at more. Thanks everyone!
