This is the first asset for an unannounced project using an isometric camera view, a humble gas pump. Still WIP, since more detail is to be added to the diffuse and it's lacking a spec map. Shot from the UDK static mesh editor: (Diffuse and Normal) Diffuse: (1/2 size)
Hello everybody. Are spec and gloss maps from DDO legacy compatible with UE4. I tried it and materials looked more diffuse then in marmoset viewer which is bundled with DDO legacy. I inverted gloss map and plugged it in Roughness slot of UE4 shader. Cheers, n1k
Hmm, I think im going to have to make a model dump thread. Anyway, here's more texture practise from me. A cement cover block, thing. Inspired by Gears of War. 1482 Tri's. 1024 Diffuse/Normal/Spec: Diffuse: Normal: Specular:
Hmmm.... At this point I'm not quite sure. We're opening the same file, and your specs are adequate. Maybe there's a plugin you're using that's causing the issue, or maybe there's another application besides Maya that's causing the lag.
These character sculpts are really cool. You sometimes over do it with the spec but i'm not too bothered by usually. I'd love to see some process, like a video of you working or a breakdown of your workflow.
While its hardly exciting, here's a modular floor tile I was playing with. Diffuse, Normal and spec maps, screenshot from UDK. And the droid concept as a low poly, still working on the texture atm:
got the problem solved, was caused by the global illumination of mental ray. also got the materials done and spec & glossmap now just more tweaking everything before i can go over to rigging!
totally agree with pyro, so much lack of shadow, and they need to turn thier AO's to 11. asides from that it looks awesome but its gonna have a lot of competition with MW2, BF:RC2 and Spec Ops
Hey man cool stuff on here! Be careful with the spec on the eyes, its reading a bit white and glassy on your Cleopatra. Also the Philtrum and area above her top lip looks a bit off.
I don't see anything wrong with the final render... but I have gripes with having such saturation in the spec. But the final result doesn't seem to mind. Looks really great! Can't wait to see more!
