I've been feeling discouraged from making stuff and posting, but I'm trying to make an effort again. The main issue with all my models is inability to adequately pose them: they have a tendency to break in a way that I can't quite fix. The legs become too short for sitting poses, the arm twists break silhouettes, the…
This looks really, really good! It reminds me of Half-Life 2. =) You’ve truly excelled in the amount of detail here, and it’s honestly hard to come up with suggestions. One small thing I noticed, mainly in the darker scenes, is that the player could perhaps be highlighted just a little more, or given a subtle light source…
@Quasar thanks for your feedback! i agree, it looks a bit strange, and i can see the difference it made when i started applying some more detail on the skirt. i might go back to refine the blouse a little bit too, but in general i can see the improvement!
I've heard it said before that you don't want seams in certain places on a mesh, by that I mean the UVs are apart. But I'm not sure if this is old advice from past workflows or if it really is something to be avoided. When I bake out normal maps and so on, everything appears to look fine. Maybe the mipmaps are affected?…

Forget why i had…
Hey guys, having a bit of a personal crisis over the last few days and I'm keen to get some feedback from those in the industry and with personal experience. Bit of a wall of text here but I'd appreciate it if you could at least skim through it all. I'm 27 in a few weeks, and have spent the last couple of years…
Congrats, well done. Overall an excellent hard surface project. Indeed I've really enjoyed the process and also learnt a thing or two along the way, mainly lighting plus nice touch unifying this hero asset with a light layer of dust/grunge, imo fairly crucial detail that can be easily missed when finalising the model for…
@ EarthQuake - No worries on understanding me :) I was just concerned about seeing an outline of the outline of polys on the normal map. I did a test bake yesterday and I am happy with the results that I was getting. We will see though. I appreciate you taking the time to show me that tho, floating insets are a relatively…
