Very nice. Definitely better than any student work I ever produced :+1: Agreed with illumisanic. Something I notice in grad work is that its common to spend a lot of triangles in small fine detail areas while neglecting the larger silhouette. If you take some of the triangles out of the high density areas and spend them in…
In Maya I simply control click a loop or ring, then double click a subsequent segment on that loop or ring to partially unselect it. Is this possible to do in max? I know there is window crossing but a complex partial ring/loop deselection when that ring/loop is going around the object would be highly useful.
I haven't posted here recently because it's kind of obvious at this point; the bubble is popping. 30,000 laid off at Oracle, Copilot is 'for entertainment purposes only', etc, etc. Beating a dead horse with 5 legs and 2 necks at this point…
I went to gamestation here in the uk the other day with 5 old PC games(lord of the rings return of the king, just cause etc etc), they offered me about $5 for all 5 the guy at the counter actually looked sad about the situation himself and apologised for how thier shops system work. I was expecting at least the equivalent…
Hi everyone! I would like to know how i could rig an the wings on this character i made: I have basic knowledge on rigging bipeds, but with wings i never tried it.. How can i make it so that he can open and close his wings easily? Any help would be apreaciated!
Hi Matt, what would you like to know exactly? The idea behind the script is quite straightforward, its realization a little more complex for the lack of clever methods in 3ds Max code to get sorted edge loops/rings. The only thing you can query for is a BitArray filled with edge loop/ring indexes. For its very own nature…
Hi, Polycount! I'm in confusion and need u'r help. Right now i'm making model of scope and it has many cylindrical parts, and as result many ring piecies when i unwrapping it, here is screenshot of fast uv packing and model itself: I want to know what to do with ring piecies when i unwrapping such models. Should i divide…
Hi guys, and a new "im used to use blender - is this possible in maya, too?" question. In my modelling workflow its a common practice to start with an edge ring (no faces) and extrude it to a cylinder. Very handy, because you can copy an edge ring from another mesh and use it to have a perfect base for further modelling.…
Hey Guys! I'm John, one of three developers at White Lotus Interactive. We've been hard at work on our first title - XING: The Land Beyond. While visiting GDC this week we were directed to the polycount meetup and met some members there. Although all three of us are totally guilty of lurking on the forums, I was finally…
I'm trying to achieve the exact same effect seen in the left corner. I have cracked glass pieces modeled similarly, but my technical art side not strong enough to find correct way to do it. I’m struggling to figure out how to get this result.
