Hi i'm searching for documents about what to consider when making racing games, what needs to be done to have good looking track when moving and in still frame and general tips on leveldesign and stuff. Never made a racinggame so all information would be nice. thanks in advance!
I'm just throwing in a little pimp, but our game, 3D RC Racing does have a built in track editor. You can create one from placement of premade parts, or import one from scratch. The editor you work with is based around the TGEA in game editor.
The layout of that coaster bothers be intensely. I believe if you use the program No Limits to build the track, you can export 3D models from the no limits construction kit but I have not done it. It would be a good way to look into building realistic coasters easily. But you got to smooth that track. That ride would be so…
Hey some of this stuff is pretty good. I liked those Lone tracks (it reminds me of the techno and rave stuff I used to love so much but lost track of..). Some others are a bit too glitchy and off-world for me though. Your stuff is not bad TeeJay, though sometimes they tend to just "trundle along" a bit too much for my…
Crystal Dynamics is looking for a Materials Artist for one of its game teams at its studio in Menlo Park at the heart of northern California's Silicon Valley. Position Description: The Materials Artist role works in conjunction with a world modeling team to ensure highest quality as applied to normal, specular, diffuse and…
I think I'm going to say bascially the same thing as Oobersli.. but when we did a racing game at work what we did for the track was make a spline and then make a profile of the road and side wall and just extrude it along the path.. it automatically UVs itself that way and it's easy to tweak.
I think the fact that a robot just had a thought and emotions should be more thought provoking than the fact that she was a women... look past that and see what she did... It's artistic expression, you had your emotions on a race track while they demo their tech. Amazing if you ask me.
@Joopson Heya, It absolutely is Midjourney tracing, because this person doesn't work from imagination (that's obvious, since not even the greatest comicbook artists who ever lived can do this kind of accurate material rendering without reference) ; and the work isn't photo-based either, since never does she mention setting…
Autocon, a script like that in Maya would be a godsend! Done it manually so many times, never did a find a script that worked like the one you posted. Also Toddiej, that sounds like a familair technique I think I heard about relating to UVing race tracks, will deffo give it a try.
Hi I'm trying to render a character to composite it on top a filmed footage in After Effects. I've 3D tracked the footage in Cinema 4D and imported that as FBX into Marmoset Toolbag 4. Everything looked fine, but after I rendered the scene, I realized that camera is Marmoset doesn't exactly match what I had 3D tracked in…
