Starting to get more into 3D sculpting, do people usually make a base mesh by polymodeling in maya or something? Or is it common practice to take primitives in a sculpting program, I'm using Mudbox, and shape those into a base mesh?
Been lurking a good while, though it best to get a real thread up and running. I've been chipping away at sculpt of Odin [norse universe, not marvel] I have no concept art - so i'm just sculpting then painting clothing/armour over it as I go along. C&C appreciated Cheers
Some wip images of an orc sculpt in Zbrush. This is kinda my third sculpt in a series of projects i made to really learn and understand zbrush, so I'm looking for critiques and comments! I'm trying to go for a more passive but still quite menacing orc character, more closer towards human size and proportions.
UPDATE: Screenshots of the final 3 zbrush sculpts before printing, I may upload some more pics of the full polypainted turnaround but at this moment in time I'm not finished with them. SCI-FI Sculpt: CASUAL Sculpt: ZOMBIE SKIN Sculpt: I'll be uploading the printing/finishing progress in the future as well as some base and…
Hi! I need more practice on head sculpting on Zbrush, but I have learned so much by sculpting this face. I also tried to play with some polypainting. The hair is a bit of a mess. Feedback and critique is appreciated! :D
Is there any way to avoid this mouth pole when doing a retopo on a DynaMesh head from zBrush? It's producing some odd pinching! First image is my sculpt's retopo and the pinching it produces in zBrush, especially when subdivided (which I plan to do in zBrush for a detail pass). Rest are examples from the Polycount Wiki &…
thought I would throw up this Kimono sculpt I did this week. Was intended as a speed-sculpt but I ended up spending around 4 good nights working on it. I am trying to get better at modeling drapery.
Hi all! I'm studying 3d sculpting for more time than I'd like to admit but some concepts that may be quite simple/obvious for most are not clear to me... I believe maybe I'm not cut out to this, at least professionally, but I'd like to improve on sculpting as a hobby. Could someone please share an example (on a human face)…
Greetings! I am an aspiring modeller, with little to no background in the field. My experience is limited to 4 years of work using Milkshape3D and user-made tools for Warcraft III modelling and "geo-merging", aka model editing. This mostly involves low-poly modelling, simple linear animations and plenty of…
Hello. I was hoping that someone could pick apart my sculpt to where I would need improvement or areas I need to focus on. Currently using 3D Coat for this sculpt. Thank You in advance and look forward to what I need to work on.
