I'm getting tons of errors with Quixel 2.1.5. and Photoshop CC 2015. Just as many as 1.8 im sorry to say. Just upgraded Photoshop 2014 to 2015 through their Creative Cloud app which is just a button press, not sure if it counts as a fresh install or not. So heres a few of them, not all... Or how can I export them from Painter? Also, how to paint on Mask? For example, I add to layer mask, apply generator "MG Metal wear" but then I can't paint on this mask. Should I duplicate this layer, remove generator and than paint?
Is just using display layers not an option? That's what I do in Maya to avoid selection issues. It doesn't seem like too much of a problem to me. Just put your walls on their own layer and lock it?
I'm using PSDs (or sometimes tiffs with layers), with Max2012. "Realistic Materials" checker box, and selecting individual layers with opacity from the PSD in the import dialog setup doesn't seem to matter from my tests :/
The layers in Zbrush 4 and up now support polypaint, so you can just create a layer specifically for your polypainting diffuse, spec etc. Not as flexible as photoshop, but gives you something similar atleast.

I would use layers instead of trying to physically block the light. Using layers, you don't need any shadowcasters which makes your life a lot easier and de-clutters your scenes.
Add the label directly into the *.PSD with DDO open, of course! You can then use the DDO menu with the PS layer selected and Copy Layer to All Maps and select the map channels you'd like for it to appear in. :smile:

By chance did they readd the move selected objects to layer button back into the scene explorer window? I can't stand having to use the button on the mini version where the layers are a tiny drop down menu.
