Advice about making hair
Hello everybody, :) :) I would like to sculpt hairs for a character. It's only a head without body. I began sculpting it in Zbrush 3.1 but the result doesn't catch my expectations. Here is the result of the fast sculpting step. I can't change de original low poly because it's ready for animation. So I need a solution… -

I agree with MarcoAntonio. If you are aiming a game ready model the polycount should be lower and use more the normal map. ... my poor laptop is already fighting quicksaves in a scene with 'barley' 55 millions ('quciksaves' up to 191 secs...)... I guess he would slap me in the face if I would push it further and kick me in the nuts for 160... I guess it doesn't matter how strong machines become, we will be riding them to till they start… -
duplicating subtools in ZB 3.5?
I'm trying to set some eyes up for a head in Zbrush. One's in place, now I just need to mirror/duplicate it. SubTool Master used to do it in 3.1, but there's no Subtool Master for 3.5 and the old one doesn't work with it. Does that functionality exist in 3.5 anywhere, or is it just missing until the new plug-ins are… -

Thank you, PsykO. I tried to fix the points you said. And now I think I finished this project. Modeled and rendered in Zbrush 3.1, using best renderer. Passes composed in Photoshop. Hair and fur retouched in PS too. I learned a lot with this one. Hope you guys like it. Raw render: -

sometimes i have to save the psd once, then just off on one of the layers i make a brush stroke and save it again and it seems to work. i'm still kinda annoyed that if i have a custom startup document with a custom canvas size zapplink doesn't work at all, i don't get it, never had that issue in 3.1. -

just some additional info. if you are having problem with vertex reordering in zbrish 3.1. In max if you leave it as an editable mesh, add an 'edit poly' modifier, then export, it seems to work. converting to to edit poly directly doesn't always work sometimes you don't need to do this, but the occasional mesh does( max… -
