I agree oXYnary , for disabling screw and us direction from cage. I have strong limits for lowpoly models and this limits not take account of hard edges, just tris, like in editor (maya). I can't add edge loop without increasing polycount - and game engine not allow me to load this model... ( Dota 2 Workshop Tool not count…
Just keep modeling and sculpting. Both options are good too handle. As you keep modeling you start to internalize and develop an non-intellectual understanding of it all. But best advice is just to rinse and repeat. Zbrush has come far in hard surface modeling now as well. If you can get the introduction course from gnomon…
Thanks mate for your sincerity! This was a project done during Gilberto's magno Workshop! I tried to follow my own concept, and this is the results! This is my first low poly game ready character, im really proud for being the first.. :) Next time i hope to maybe, follow a concept trying to don't do the mistakes that u…
I like the style you have going on for textures but I can't help but feel like the colors are all over the place. I think you need a more cohesive color scheme to make this character shine. While I doubt that you're going for the Dota style, I think that their art guide has some good information on color distribution.…
I'd be interested to know if anyone is taking these courses. I've been googling the course and Paul McWilliams for days now, and all I can find is all the promotional posts for the course, and an IMDB profile. Did you end up taking the course Zero? I'm looking at the September workshop, but really need more information…
It does look nice in the 3d-coat, yeah, but the thing is that in-game there will be extra leather texture over whole grip (at least it used to be like that when I was working with deag), and it could spoil the shapes. That is also why you don't see a lot of skins on workshop that try to run away from standard grip shape.…
This is the final design for the artwork. Feel free to suggest anything before I start inking. I'm too lazy right now to work so I might do it tomorrow. P.S: I have a small problem... I work on mac and due to a known issue can't view my skin in-game. If anyone volunteers to help with viewing the skin and providing in-game…
I couple of people have said the same sort of thing to me, and honestly, when I've looked at what is on the workshop, almost everything is really busy designs or bright colours and crazy camo - I thought I was being different by doing some a bit plain :poly124: But I understand the sentiment, maybe I'll try and work on…
Hey Polycount, Some of the Dota players here at Weta Workshop have been working on item submissions. Our first one had a mixed response, so we've gone back and worked on a redesign. Compared to the Team Fortress 2 items we did, Dota 2 has been more challenging in terms of nailing the look and feel. Any feedback or comments…
Hello, I am new to the site and new to blender. I basically watched a few tutorials and tried making my first item. This was the first time I've ever made an 3d model and know I need a lot more practice but I posted the item I made anyway on dota 2 workshop. Was just wandering what everyone thinks, constructive criticism…
