Made some game environment design. Made idea was to create an ancient crumbled castle on top of a mountain up in the sky. Purpose of this work was to study tile and modular environment construction, use minimum of assets to create a themed environment.
I found a portion of a modular architecture kit, it is pretty old and appears to have originally been distributed on CDs. I think it was original for 3ds max only. Looks like the name was Recon3d: edit: I did find a website, looks like they are defunct:…
A world builder friend of mine used it when building modular walls. He did it mainly because it was easy to manipulate the wall shapes etc and the UV mapping was somewhat automatic.
Looking great man! I like the the first scenes setup, the shaders really break up the modularity (or at least keep you captivated by all the lights and shiny moving parts)
Great work, would like to see more of the modular structures. I'm thinking of getting into the substance designer workflow too but kinda afraid of at the moment, don't know where to start.
WIP 09 Created so clean and detailed modular highpoly meshes, next is loader and finish spaceship and some parts, After that we can do lowpoly and bake stuff
Got picked up for an undisclosed game doing some freelance assets, and I'm allowed to post my WIPS! A lot of zbrush work for this project, while still making it modular.
modular characters and outfits, I don't use Modo but in Max I can tweak the normals so a split at the neck to allow for different heads doesn't show up as a seam.
