'\Documents\Allegorithmic\Substance Painter\autosave' takes up 13.7 gb. As only ever work on 1 project at a time, complete it then move it to another disk for archiving I do not need those autosave files. is it ok to delete them?
Allegorithmic has nice explanations about exporting maps and integrations for different render engines on its documentation pages. And i get nice results for 3dsmax and Vray but just wondering if i connect the height map to displacemetnt map slot and if so what sould be the adjustments?
Had an article featured in the December issue of 3DWorld, just some simple thoughts about texturing in substance painter with some additional images from my work on Allegorithmics Vehicle Challenge. Look here for bigger pictures - https://www.artstation.com/artwork/PbNx8
What settings should I tweak to be able to bake AO with my floaters not casting a shadow on the mesh? Allegorithmic's AO docs don't say anything about this, nor could I find threads about this in their forum, and PC's wiki doesn't have anything about this either. Is it not possible?
@d1ver Understood. I just ask to please indicate that you used an AI program at the start to evaluate my work. AI has its uses that are valuable and its tools for feedback are decent, but they need to be guided as you have provided in your critique. Thank you Anil. Will be uploading the modular pieces soon ^^ To begin with Designer I would recommend the Allegorithmic YouTube channel. Very nice material. If you can get Rogelio Olguin`s tutorial tho, in the Gnomon Workshop, you should definitely go for it. Pure gold
Hi Handrews, Can you please upload your .SPP file and send me a link ? I'm from the Allegorithmic Q.A team and I would like to have a look to your file. If you can't upload it, please share screenshots of your current settings. Thanks :)
It's odd, because I have seen other artist effectively use twitch, even allegorithmic and unreal have channels dedicated to art. That said, twitch.tv is just another version of justin.tv which targeted game streaming. Justin.tv is fine for any type of content I believe.
well no, we got the OSL shaders. you can make what you want and i think it comes with 100 examples maps. if you like substance then there is a substance map plugin actively being developed by allegorithmic so you can load substances quickly in max.
This is a known artifact that comes with working with metalness/roughness. It is more noticeable the lower the texel density. Unfotunately there's not much you can do other than increasing your texture resolution. I highly recommend checking out the Allegorithmic PBR Guide. It answers this question and a bunch of others.
