my OCZ vertex 3 crapped out. I got two. a 60 gig for my OS, and a 120 gig for my games and what not (faster loading? why not.) The 60 gig crapped out, fast. Was getting BSOD CONSTANTLY. So i dropped the 60 gig, put my OS on my 120 (with all my main programs), then picked up a 2TB HDD for my games and shit. Been running way…
I would maybe invest in a good CPU such as 4930k (or even 4960k if you have alot of dough). When it comes down to rendering and anything 3D in general the regular ones does not cut it. I would also get 32GB ram, i have 16 and on several occasions had to close down apps due to lack of ram. But as your budget is fairly low,…
Since there is no created data on the first renderable frame (frame 1 in this case) then no content will be rendered. You either need to slide your animation to frame 1 and export or change your frame range to begin on the frame the geometry is created (in this case) 2-120 for your cached export. We'll look into this…

It can be viewed online or downloaded in PDF format at http://www.dscript.ca/manual.htm This is the first draft so please excuse any typos or errors. I would…
This piqued my interest so I hacked a macroscript I'd cobbled together a while back for turning sprites into 3d objects (it's a hack squared) It appears to work - it's not fully automated or clever but I actually got some decent results out of it bad things : It starts from a very inefficient mesh (quad per pixel) and…
Hey, something I agree 100% with Greevar on, imagine that! Not only all of this, but the insane raise in tuition cost over the last 10-20 years, while wages have plateaued, its just ridiculous. $120K for a "game design" degree? FFS.
Hey everyone, Over the course of the past ~8 months I've been working hard on nMaker. What's that? Basically it's software used to generate normal maps and height maps. Hopefully you'll like it. Here are some benefits of using nMaker: * Easy to use * Very high quality of generated maps * Cheap * Flat design * Ability to…
Hi Render, maybe you can implement something from this stuff.. I'd like to see transfer of UV from hipoly to lowpoly for example.. missing this :) -- UV Layout-- This program was split off from the Surface Toolkit.... Thanks to the guy who coded the TV drawing routine I'm using.-- please email me at…
