The Art of Kung Fu Panda is pretty nice... I have all the World of Warcraft art books, and a few others... The Massive Black one is a nice pick up as well.. but it seems to be a let down to some, but for me it was nice and has a soft spot with me... cause those are my boys ;)
which one of these rocks do you like best? the soft or sharp ones? i'm just blocking them out for now, trying to get a feel how to make the primary shapes correct, but something looks off. any rock experts here xD. any ideas how to make them better before i spend time detailing them?
Beginner sculptor here. Am interested in general feedback, as well as pointers on taking the sculpts "to the next level". I assume that typically means detail, but am unsure. Alien creature will eventually have fur, so details may be unnecessary..? How do you know when to stop? Add more? Soft used: Sculptris and Photoshop.…
Hi All, I am working on a interior scene and trying to get some nice soft overall lighting along with some shadows. I have enclosed a bake, lighting only and a wire frame showing my current light setup. Is the way I set up the lighting the way you guys would go about doing it or is there a better way? Thanks Alex
I've been reading some critiques of artwork in the other forum that recently have had a lot to deal with tiling textures. Having said that I understand the principles of how to set up a building via tiling textures. But I realized that in practice I'm not that great at it. So I'm looking for tips and tricks to figure out…
Hey guys! I Finally made something of this! Thank you! I used the IK Spline and two soft clusters to deform the curve but now I have a little problem, the base of the strap rotates and I want it to stay on place. How can I block the rotation there?
Starkist, you pretty much got the jist of it. The main this is just defining edges and making sure that there is nothing that feels "soft", unless its supposed to or course. The contrast doesn't really sharpen anything, it just helps to add focal points and makes the piece stand out more.
Thats badass!! I love how you define surfaces, it works very well. the belly is super soft! The cleavage may be a little too hard edged and heavy handed, but it is a cool look :) awesome stuff! edit: my phone has a new background now :) inspiration!
Fuuuuuuuu- these textures are such eye candy. I mad jelly. I really like how you did the rocks. And the underbelly of the roadrunner looks so soft and fluffy! Only thing I would add is maybe some alpha cards on the chest of the roadrunner to make it a bit fluffier
Is this one showing off vertex color tinting, or lighting layers? Either way, really cool! I really ought to paint more assets for this. Could possibly use a single platform (like the column or fence) that is a soft ambient occlusion shadow for where the wall and platform meet.
