+1 to saving cash and building an awesome machine yourself. It's not that hard, it might be a little scary the first time around but if you take it slow you'll be fine. Seriously Lego instructions can be more complex... but I've built every system I've ever had (on my 8th). $1,500 would get you a good set up that will last… -

Update: Added some details to the jacket. Also decided against having two hands in favor of a giant syringe-arm-extension, because why not? Also simplified the mech-foot to not have as much repeating clutter. Gave all of the metal plates a hard edge since the face, hair and folds a very angular. The thing on his shoulder… -

I think you're combining too many styles of armor there. The chain & plate combination is fine for the transitional period around the 14th-century, but the studded leather bracers and leggings just don't fit. The mail coat was typically longer, reaching almost to the knee, with the splits on the side rather than the front…
