Is it possible to do sub-components collision between sub-components of a mesh in Maya. For example you put one mesh in a rest position, freeze transformations, then simply select some polygons or points then calculate the collision between the two objects, and when the, vertices collide with the other mesh it stops ?
@Fansub and I , and basically everyone is doing some Quad filling thingy , on Maya's side and on my part the circle filling stuff was the first thing I wanted to work on (Who doesn't want Quads on the Caps :D ) , I basically did this little script back in 2016. Action !
I am trying to create a normal map using a model from zbrush and one in maya. When I try to use transfer maps it won't let me change the size of the envelope after changing it once or making it visible. Does any one know why that would be?
Can someone please tell me my options in porting a character mesh, with unwraps, from Max 6 to Maya 5? Do I need to get a plugin for one or both, or is there some format that both can work with natively? Any help muchly appreciated
Hey guys... I'm having some lighting difficulties in Maya... I want to add light fog to two headlights on a vehicle, but when I render, there is a strange multiplying effect where the two light cones overlap. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
My parents are letting me upgrade my computer for a graduation present. What do I need to get to best run Maya? I currently have an ATI Radeon 9600xt and 1 gig of Ram...I know both need upgrades...but to what? All suggestions will be appreciated. I also want to get Mudbox in the near future, what do I need for that? Thanks.
Since maya 2009 I believe, when you press '3', mental ray (not maya software renderer) will automatically connect necessary node and render it smooth for you so you don't have to worry with setting up. Before that you have to actually manually do it.
