Well I think it's an interesting approach for sure - really quite equivalent to baking a round edge shader on a hard-edged Low. It would be interesting to see if an asset could be done fully that way (knowing that the Low would need to be dense enough to not have overly facetted cylinders). One worry is the triangulation…
Blender basics, shows how to use measure tool to measure edge and angle. Happy sharing and I hope this helps. #blender #cgian #b3d Watch here, https://youtu.be/8Nm_iREOIcY
The way I think about it is> hard edges are for mesh shading. Spliting the UV once the only concern about using hard edges is addressed is basically using the button to convert hard edges to UV seams. aka stop using the convert UV seams to hard edges button, you are doing it backwards :#
mmm, if anyone needs help next time with anything similar the 0.001 + method works dependent on the scale of the object, the select open "edges" option next to the edges icon works to close open edges and uses weld, i usually do open edges selection turn it to either edges or vertex holding control and you "weld" only what…
Hi, i have recently got back into 3d modelling, how would i go about fixing the topology of these booleaned cylindrical columns, i want to keep the edges of the columns so the maintain their shape, would i have to add extra edge loops? curious as to suggestions or whether the problem is in how i went about modelling them…
Hey everyone. Some time ago i saw a technique to bake a 45 degree bevel on a normal trimsheet to fake the illusion of a bevel on a mesh with a hard edge. Im running into something similar, just that in this case i need to put a Edge wear which i made and put it on a mesh that has a weighted normal. So far i have mixed…
Anyone know of a way in 3dsmax to convert the green edges in an unwrap to blue pelt edges? Basically what's happening is that every time I collapse the unwrap modifier (to make tweaks on the mesh), it forgets all the pelt seams. Is there a way to convert the green edges into blue edges? Or even just a way to select all the…
Its always the same. Straighten what you want straight, locally relax the rest to follow that straight edge. You could pin it, or like i do, just exlcude it from your selection
Welp, I've just achieved it. I only needed to switch some nodes and change the blending with the edge noise using multiply instead of add.. And also crank up the world scalar value hehehe.
Hi! In this case I would consider setting the 90 degree edges of the lowpoly to hard, as currently its shading has quite the gradients, which the normal map has to compensate for. Remember to split UVs at hard edges. Zip and attach the meshes to the thread if you want a second pair of eyes on it. You might find more…
