This really makes me scared of using Unity 5 for our next mobile project. Our projects rely heavily on pre-computed lightmaps since we have no real-time lights.
Hi! Im from Argentina. Im making a Mobile and VR Mobile Videogame. Its a SciFi Runner. We are looking for an artist. We would need you to work with lots of NEON LIGHTS (Tron-like), and Sci Fi/Futuristic World. The runner is Rail-Based, so the WORLD will be just background like. We will give you credits when we publish.…
Hello guys! I just want to share a part of my freelance work i had done for Armada Studio. I was responsible for the design, modeling, texturing and lighting. The lighting is old fashion, baked light maps and then painted by hand here and there, just to add nice contrasts and highlights. The geometry it is very low in…
You may want to check into Marmoset Toolbag. It is a real time rendering engine that is reasonably priced. It is great for testing and tweaking textures because the results update and if you are using two screens you can get fast feedback. Unity lights are similar to Maya lights. I often set up a scene in Maya to test…
Hi everybody, after some work with Unity, and trying to make a custom shader, I'm forced to return on the UDK cause of the limitation of the free version of Unity with lighting and post process features. But it doesn't matter, I have at least tried and learned some very interesting thinks about this engine more oriented…
We are looking for a 3D modeler to help update some existing racetracks for our mobile racing game Assoluto Racing. The work would be taking the base of an existing track and updating the assets, materials, and textures to fit with a new more modern real-time lighting focused PBR workflow. The engine is Unity and the…
Has anyone tried Unity Skyshop with a mobile device yet? Could say the iPhone 5 handle a game with it? Suppose you have a single low poly character (WoW style) using skyshop for the lighting, think that would run okay?
I'm working on a virtual reality game for samsung GearVR (Mobile phone) here's the process thread! :: First draft: going for an dome shaped shell for the environment with holographic elements :: character pov test :: blocking in first mech character It has to be super low poly to run well on mobile :: redesigned…
Yeah we make mobile games in unity at work, it is powerful but those big features like normal maps and light probes do hit performance quite heavily. You would have to be very careful how you optimise your game if you are using per-pixel lights and normal map shaders. You can use unity vertex lighting and lightmaps and…
A neat little art pack for game developers. I've been working on variations of these for more than a year now, these are modified meshes, updated texture resolutions, a new fresnel/reflective shader and come completely driveable right out of the box. They also have NGUI touch support built right in!…
