Hi, i just started playing around with maya dynamics. Is there a way to make a mesh cast a field? I would like to have a mesh which works as a magnet for other objects. The newton field pretty much is what i want, but it's casted from the origin and not from a mesh .
I've been messing around with transfer maps in maya and I cant figure out why my displacement maps come out looking so grainy. Is this a Vray setting or a material setting that Im not seeing? left side is whats being displaced and right side is my highpoly

Just curious if anyone knows of a melscript for Maya that automatically updates a texture on a model. Only reason I ask is because its pretty annoying having to open the material attribute for an object and then having to reload the texture.

Autodesk annouced Maya is free for all, and now is on the same level as blender, free and open source. They also say if you bought it recently they will refund your money if it's been 30 days. Source

Am I an idiot here? I found the unEditor.mll file for UT2003 but it doesnt work with the current version of maya. Is there another plug-in that I can use to port UT2004 model files over?
