Hey, So, like most game artists out there at the minute I've been looking into the whole PBR thing and Unreal4. There seem to be 2 different methods I've seen so far and I'm wondering which is the best to use and when. Firstly, I've seen objects with texture sheets laid out pretty much as they have been for donkeys years.…
Hey guys, I was contemplating on trying to build a terrain shader solution in UE4 which is based on texture based splat data and not a vertex colored based one. So my question, can you paint to texture in UE4(not paint to vertex)? Thanks!
Hello, I'm looking for a 3d model of the Avali race from a the well known Starbound mod : http://avali.wikia.com/wiki/Art_&_Concepts I'm looking for an artist that can go from the 2D concept arts to a finished and textured result that works in Secondlife. Secondlife experience is obviously needed, as navigating tutorials…
Hey guys, I have this question and I can't figure answer to it. I have seen people using 3D Max render to texture option for baking spherical enviroment photos into their models. From what I have heard you just have to put the spherical map into enviroment slot in skylight options and hit render to texture. But no matter…
Hi I'm using Vue 9.5 xStream to render some sky textures, nothing else. After the render is complete there are lines stretching over the texture like you'd usually get from a compression issue. This is before importing into Unreal, so I can see the lines in Photoshop after exporting from Vue as a PNG or Targa. I'm…
Hey guys! I just finished this piece I made to learn how to model and texture rocky surfaces. I would really like to know what you think about it, and if there is anything I can do to improve on rock modelling and texturing. I would really appreciate if you post some tutorials, your workflows or anything that could help me…
Depends on your pipeline and limitations. Our cinematic chars does have textures for each object sometimes with UDIMs. The game chars do have one or two texture sets. Sometimes three for extra gear. On some games the chars does have multiple outfits. So every part does have its own texture. Its up to you. Make it look cool…
I came across this Program while looking for a painting program that allows you to wrap around painting to create seamless textures....Its appears to be freaking awesome for hand painting textures. Check it out. Its something Adobe should have had years ago. [ame] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ICGks0-InQ[/ame]
Hey, so I'm struggling with a texture blending issue in Cryengine 5 - basically there's a terrible off-colour boarder around all of my textures and I can't figure out what's causing it. See the shot below. I've tried finding documentation about it but so much is directed at Cryengine 3. Any ideas/tips?
