Looks pretty nice to be honest. I want to see it :) [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeAfoiN5SDw&feature=player_embedded[/ame] http://www.ironsky.net/site/ As World War II comes to an end in 1945, Hans Kammler and other Germananti-gravity research. From a secret base in the Antarctic, Nazi spaceships are sent to the…
The thing is though, I don't want to texture both sides individually, I just wanted the textures to be the same on both sides. I guess I could just texture one side and flip the texture onto the other side in gimp.
Here is the same model exported as fbx and obj. FBX is 844kb, OBJ is 22.4kb. For a static prop like this there is no benefit so I would usually use an obj. But once we build the unity project, do the models remain in that format, taking up the same amount space? If I was only using fbx's for everything, woudl I be wasting…
Hey folks, I've decided to have a go at making my first environment for my portfolio. I'm following the concept below (I don't know who did it, but credit to the guy... It's amazing work). I've completed the high poly as far as I think I need to go, now I'm working on the low poly and I'm after crit on the whole project so…
So...this isn't a technical problem or an in-progress model, so I guess this goes here? Sorry if I'm wrong. I'm finding myself doing a lot of weapons-based 3d work right now, and I'm having some problems finding certain kinds of reference. Specifically, large images that show good examples of the wear and tear you'd expect…
I ask because it looks suspiciously like the bit with the artefact is mapped to the back side of it's mirrored partner. Why? The dark grey is ambient occlusion. No inverted UVs means you're not reusing space per side, you're swapping sides around. The shape of the occlusion matches the triangle on the left side.
I've been working on this the past two days, plus some Wednesday evening. I wanted to try a high poly vehicle to learn some tools I wouldn't normally use for low poly characters, such as curves (splines) and deformers. Since everyone has done all the super cars, I just picked my own vehicle. I'm taking all my own photos…

How do I limit Rect masking to one side of a cube? Ie, make sure the backface isn't masked as well? To be clear, I'm not asking about how to limit sculpting to one side of a mesh (ie Brush>Auto Masking>BackFaceMask). I'm trying to mask the windows on the North side of a house and the South side gets masked as well.
