I was attempting a little bit of a different workflow where I use dynamesh, masking and polygroups, entirely to build the shape i want from a plane. I got the shape of a sword I wanted but since I started it as a plane, I have no thickness. I cant inflate, panel loop or extrude to bring out thickness (distortion and…
Hi i'm fairly new to all of this stuff and am a little lost when it comes to shaders. I am using Arnold with Aistandard's and theres material presets on Solid Angles website for a dozen different materials like gold and chrome and plastic. But say for example I want leather or polished carbon steel for a sword, there seems…
Hi! I'm a 3d artist currently looking for any full time or part time jobs. I've freelanced or worked with mod-groups for around 1 year and now I'm looking for other opportunities. I specialize in hard surface stuff (preferably guns and/or swords etc.) and creatures (or creating creature concepts using Zbrush). My portfolio…
I only need 4 icons. I need something that looks better and more polished than these. The icons are skills as follows: -strength boost -cleave effect -projectile (in the shape of the sword of the hero) -armor boost I will also provide a reference image. Please give me a link to your work. Please give me a price.…
Hey everyone. I've been working for a while on knight character by this awesome concept. http://motise.artstation.com/portfolio/knight-bd34f312-9d68-433b-9b82-34cf83be7118 Here is what I have at the moment. I guess this dude is done. Gotta start working on shield and sword. Would be glad to hear what do you guys think.…
Looking really good! Speeding up his initial roll into the scene and using a more interesting pose could make everything feel a little smoother. He seemed a tiny bit too slow coming in. I agree with everything Anthony said too, more forceful sword swings would make everything feel snappier and look really nice.
The proportions are looking pretty close to the concept. I'd say the hind legs might be too tapered and the fingers a bit too long. Also, I'm pretty sure the sword-like central ridge on the tail should be softened. Otherwise it's still early to tell. It's not clear yet whether you're going stylized or realistic. I…
For the texturing I'd try and reduce the amount of black parts in the texture or at leas make them smaller. If you notice in the reference images, the statue is quite weathered. Throw some moss green on there and brown water marks. This is especially obvious in the first image. There is green on the back part, with brown…
Thank you for answer, really appreciate it. Will try to work in that directions. The only thing I can't understand is color variation (how to decide which colors to choose, achieve good balance). Maybe you know some tutorials or lectures? Because right now I didn't find anything informative. I saved a sword reference as…
AGreed with everything connecta said. I`d also add in that it would be nice to have better rendering. The black background is kind of dull and, well, sad. haha. Plus it hides some things. Brighten up your render. Go for a mid-toned grey or something. Also, the sword fight, zoom in... It's one of your better pieces and you…
