Hey guys, I'm looking to get myself a new screen, currently I use a 24" for my main screen but I was thinking of going a bit bigger. Just wondering if anyone uses larger than 24" and whether they like it or not? My main concern is for zbrush use. Cheers
Well fight fans, possibly the biggest fight of 2010 is on the horizon. Alas, it's not the fight we were all expecting, but I am frankly tired of Floyd's nonsense and glad to see good old Manny in the ring again. HBO kicked off another 4-week series giving you a glimpse into their training camps and life stories.…
Create enough space around the focal point to make a clear visual separation. Imagine a movie or any music that has a pause before the climax. Making a clear separation between the background elements and focal point is the goal of composition. As an example, contrasting horizontal and vertical shapes. I suggest switching…

Hey fellow polycounters, i'm looking to get myself a decent monitor for texturing/3d etc and was wondering what people's opinions are here. I'm thinking of getting a Samsung around 24" and preferably a height adjustable one since i'm tall. Anyone bought a new monitor recently?

Geometry wise - as long as silhouette is established and there are no visually faceted looking areas should be your rule of thumb. Within reason, the 8k-12k budget is arbitrary, as all assets are different. That 12k limit may work for one asset, but what if another asset is much more organic with tubes, pipes and cables?…
@Carl Brannstrom Thats a very very good tip, this explains why creating characters from WoW was fun and not so much a hassle, they had a whole story. I could make a warlock look like a warlock, a warrior look like a warrior etc. I was inspired to make the lich king because his story was just so amazing to me, and this was…
The poses are lopsided so he is walking with a bit of a limp. There also isn't much up and down motion which is pretty key. I'm not sure what 3D app you are using or what kind of rig but a walk cycle is made up of 4 poses, technically 8 but 4 are just mirrored. 1. Contact, 2. Recoil, 3. Passing, 4. High Point | 5. (1…
