does anyone know a way to speed up vertex paint in max? im trying to paint on a 30k mesh which is otherwise lightning fast but vertexpaint chuggs like hell.. I wouldnt have assumed it to be such a processor intensive process??
Hi everybody. I have a very persistent problem I seem unable to solve. I am working on a model and to save texture space I mirrored some parts. The process I follow in From Blender to Substance is: Unwrap and straightenmy UVs -> Apply my Mirror modifier -> Offset the position of the mirrored UVs by exactly one UV tile to…
So I have been looking at lots of threads and have only posted in a few. I have learned a lot since I found out that Epic released the UDK, and I found this out back in early february. I learned the unreal engine 2 when i was in school, so learning my way around UDK was pretty easy. Now, with the amount of time I have…

It would really help to show your concept art, what look you're trying to achieve. Usually people post a "mood board", a collection of reference images that help commenters understand what visual direction you're moving your game towards.

Extract the overlays.zip file to c:/ or wherever you want. 3. Hook the macro up to your terrain and then double click it, click "enter macro" 4. In the top left corner there…
@ZombieDawgs Thanks dude. The biggest change for me was the fact that the sub-d mesh will be smaller than the cage, and so won't line up with the spline guides. Therefore I had to get used to moving the points outside of where they would be on the quick studies and using "Show end result" to line up the sub-d mesh. Aside…

I would suggest skipping the turbosmooth for now and focusing on getting a solid low poly mesh first. In your first screengrab where you show the low poly, it doesn't seem like you have enough polygons to define the shape of the squirrels, so smoothing it out will not help you with that. Better show us the low poly mesh,…
