Comments to Capitalization: neat updates. Just an fyi, i thought "devs" agreed to lowercase only naming since you'd have to remember which parts are higher & lower case & that lower case would make life easier. If you had to say look for parts in a search term or call it for any-other reason in development. Has this been…
Hi everyone, I’m currently working on a 3D model for a class and I’ve run into some confusing normal map issues. I’m baking in Marmoset Toolbag 5 and texturing in Substance Painter, with Unreal Engine 5 as the target engine. The Issue:
When I import my Marmoset-baked normal maps into Unreal, they look perfect (DirectX…
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, but I'm looking for a plugin I used a while ago but lost the name of. It takes the unwrap of a simple or complex mesh, and then uses the unwrap to lay it completely flat in one axis and uses a morpher to switch between its original position and its flat position. you could then skin…
Hi! I've recently been getting into environment art, and I've familiarized myself enough with the tools to sculpt and texture a stone wall, for example. However, just having a texture on a flat plane is lame nowadays. So I'd like to add actual geometry to the walls, such as protruding rocks. Same for the ground! A simple…
I haven’t found any information about this. Do I understand correctly that Marmoset considers #7f7fff to be flat? Is there some way to adjust the standard flat color?
I know non-game freelance artist can ask upfront flat fee, but wondering what's your experience is like for clients who state right away that they prefer paying flat fee only. Get your full pay after delivery? Or can you still do installments or per milestone, just no additional cost to clients if there are unexpected…
Let's say I'm making a sci-fi crate. I want to assign flat colors to my hi-poly crate (red for bolts, green for metal, blue for everything else) I want to do this because I need a flat color map for dDo. How do I do this in Xnormal? Edit: BTW, I'm creating my hi and low models in 3ds Max.
thanks r_fletch_r 1.42 - Exposed the quadChamfer functions to maxscript (you need to have the quad chamfer script open, be in the modify panal, be in editable poly, edge subobject selection, one or more edges selected) quadChamfer.interactiveQuadChamfer (float amount) (int iterations) (optional)(bool silent:false) -- for…
I'd suggest to avoid flat surface vertices as much as possible, the only "rule" that would allow to let a little vertex in the middle of a flat surface would be "avoid tiny-long triangles", else, there's no need to put vertices in the middle of a flat surface
