Hey I've been using Maya 2017 for the last couple months or so and usually what I've been doing is just going down to Maya 2016 in order to use GoZ with Zbrush. Is there an alternative method using only Maya 2017? Should I just use Maya 2016 until something fabulous happens in 2017? I'm just trying to get an idea here…
max 2013 also has something wrong with the bitangent in the vertex data, dx shaders which rely on that (most which use tangent space normal mapping) will look funky even if it was more stable. It's not great, and I don't know a fix (stick to 2011 or 2012 seems to be the way at the moment)
It looks like its gone from 2017. It was a really good perspective view-port renderer that worked really fast and had AO and Shading automatically set up (It looked really good). Is there any way to configure max to act like that again? You didn't even need a skylight it just realistically rendered while you worked.

This happens also on another older versions of max ~2012-x only difference which I can see is that the switching between selections looks even slower on 2018 then on 2015 for example. Unfortunately I can't help you. This looks like redrawing GUI problem.
