I was think more of the lines of cheese on crackers option. Or cheese on bread and grilled tool. Maybe we should ask a cheese-head on the best way to do this... I guess I should drop these cheesy slices of jokes.
I'm not a huge reader either. I have read Harry Potter, skim read LOTR, and am reading Game of Thrones, but yeah, I'm not huge into reading. I prefer games. :)
No, low/mid poly modeling will not be a thing of the past for a long time to come. Bear in mind that current gen games will still for some time to come be made by studios who consider it their bread and butter, and dont forget the handheld market either.
I am modeling a bed, and after baking, I am getting reflections or shadows on my model, such as the mattress and on some of the wood ends where it sits next to another plank of wood. Can someone explain why this is happening? If I remove the mattress, I don't get the errors, but I shouldn't have to break the model apart…

Subdivide once, but seriously just focus on making the planes of the face. Don't smooth it out so you can attempt to see a real face just yet. Focus on nailing down the planes first. Use trimDynamic like it's bread and butter.
